Clover Therapeutics has built a large, re-contactable, and longitudinal patient community dedicated to developing precision medicine approaches for diseases of aging.  Our research platform combines genetics with deeply-phenotyped longitudinal patient populations to uncover the genetic basis of disease progression.  We pursue drug discovery programs with genetically-supported targets and develop companion diagnostics that match drug mechanisms with patient genetic risk profiles.

We are seeking a highly talented Scientist/Senior Scientist to lead our human iPSC platform. This role will develop iPSC-based in vitro models for target validation, biomarker discovery and diagnostics research.  Clover Therapeutics provides an exceptional research opportunity with a unique patient cohort with rich clinical data, machine learning technologies and computational resources to support our research activities.  This position offers an opportunity to join a dynamic growing team and contribute to the discovery and development of novel therapeutics. Ideal candidates will have expertise in human stem cell biology, iPSC differentiation protocols, cell-based assay development and project leadership.

Responsibilities:

Develop and execute protocols to differentiate human iPSC lines into cell types and organoids to support drug discovery research, with initial focus on ophthalmology therapeutics
Develop and execute strategies for in vitro target modulation
Contribute to the evaluation of disease pathways and drug targets
Lead target validation and early drug discovery research
Manage and mentor research associates
Establish and manage research activities with external collaborators and CROs
Regularly present data and strategy to internal and external audiences of diverse scientific backgrounds

Key qualifications:

Ph.D. in a relevant biological discipline
At least 2 years postdoctoral research experience
At least 3 years hands-on experience in differentiating human iPSC lines into relevant cell types and organoids
Experience in genetic manipulation of human cells including viral transduction, CRISPR based gene editing, siRNA knockdown, etc
Successful leadership of independent research programs
A track record of scientific excellence as demonstrated by publications or patents
Supervisory experience
Excellent communication and collaborative working skills
