We are a small-but-mighty, VC-backed stealth startup reinventing the antiquated, toxic, and damaging chemistry behind hair dyeing and bleaching.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated, part-time Research Assistant to join our R&D team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to pioneering experiments in hair coloring and lightening and play a vital role in product innovation. The ideal candidate will work within a small team to perform lab-based experiments, analyze data, and present findings in weekly meetings. This position is perfect for a chemistry enthusiast and who is excited to learn, adapt, and collaborate in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct wet-lab experiments under the guidance of senior scientists.
Collect, organize, and analyze experimental data.
Present weekly updates and insights to the R&D team, helping shape product innovation strategies.
Practice safe laboratory standards and ensure a clean, organized work environment.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Background in Organic Chemistry or Material Science: Coursework or lab experience in organic chemistry or material science, ideally with a focus on polymer chemistry and/or formulation.
Learner’s Mindset: Eagerness to learn, grow, and tackle new challenges in a dynamic, evolving industry.
Analytical Skills: Strong aptitude for analyzing scientific data, identifying trends, and summarizing findings concisely.
Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively within small teams, with a focus on open communication, adaptability, and a supportive attitude.
Attention to Detail: Precision in experimental procedures and data handling, ensuring reliable, reproducible results.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field preferred; undergraduate students from their second year may also apply.
Experience in a lab setting, including lab notebook maintenance/experimental record keeping, analysis, and adherence to safety protocols.
Strong organizational and time management skills to handle weekly updates and brief presentations.
