Engage Bio

mRNA immunotherapies to eliminate cancer

Engage Bio is a Y Combinator-backed, seed-stage biotech developing mRNA immunotherapies to eliminate cancer. Our platform technology turns tumors into factories for immunotherapies. This local production improves efficacy and reduces toxicity by greatly increasing the concentration of drug within the tumor compared to distant tissues. This allows us to completely eliminate tumors while sparing healthy tissues.

We are seeking a Scientist to join our growing team. This is your chance to join a fast paced startup environment and be a key contributor to the development of next generation cancer immunotherapies.

Key responsibilities:

Design and execute experimental workflows to discover and characterize novel mRNA-based immunotherapies
Generate clear data packages to communicate results and inform decision making
Research novel assays and technologies to help improve and accelerate Engage’s workflow

About you:

A team player, ready to jump in and help wherever necessary
Detail oriented, organized, and capable of working on multiple concurrent projects
Willing and able to quickly learn new skills and work with the shifting priorities of a face-paced startup
Motivated to take initiative and independently drive projects

Qualifications

PhD in Biology, Chemical Biology, or related field plus 1-5 years of experience
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Substantial wet lab experience including expertise in many of the following:
Design, synthesis, and characterization of mRNA
Lipid nanoparticle formulation
Mammalian cell culture
High-throughput, cell-based assays
Flow cytometry
Primary immune cell isolation
Molecular cloning
ELISAs and other biochemical binding assays
Data analysis using Excel, Graphpad Prism, FlowJo, Python
