The company has discovered specific GPCR heteromers which, when formed, result in enhanced cell signaling. Drugs that target disease-specific heteromers in cancer are under development.

 

Research Associate, Pharmacology

GPCR Therapeutics, USA is now building a foundational R&D team, and we have an opening for an experienced and motivated Research Associate to support multiple in vivo pharmacology studies. This is an opportunity to create a significant impact on our portfolio by helping us in lead selection and advancement.

 

Main Roles & Responsibilities

The Research Associate will be part of Therapeutic R&D division of GPCR Therapeutics, USA.  As a member of a cross-disciplinary team, this employee will support advancement of our portfolio by characterizing small molecule and biologics in rodent models by measuring response to therapy and in vivo mechanism of action studies. The position will report directly to Scientist II and requires the ability to work closely within multiple teams.

 

Key Responsibilities

Work in close collaboration with other members of the team in the characterization of small molecules and therapeutic antibodies
Perform in vivo pharmacology experiments in mice to investigate PK/PD and efficacy of drug candidates.
Prepare drug solutions, conduct dosing (IV, IP, SC, PO), measure tumor volumes, monitor health and collect blood and tissue samples.
Collect tissue samples as needed for investigational purpose such as IHC
Perform ex-vivo Flow on tumor to determine infiltrating leukocyte changes
Interpret, record, and present biological data.
Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Ideal Educational Requirements and Experience:

S. or M.S. in Biology with 2+ years relevant experience in academia or industry.
Hands-on experience with mouse disease models, preferably in oncology, is essential.
Extensive experience with drug delivery procedures (IV, IP, SC, PO), and blood and tissue collection.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Strong sense of priorities and ability to troubleshoot experiments.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying technical information in a clear manner.
Detail-oriented, with excellent organizational and record-keeping skills
Preferred qualifications:

Bioluminescent/fluorescence imaging using an IVIS Spectrum In Vivo Imaging System.
Experience in sterile cell culture techniques, and in vitro/ex vivo immune cell-based assays.
Experience with FLOW cytometry is a plus.
