|GraphWear makes a graphene-based sensor technology that can provide biological information from sweat. Initially ideated to provide performance athletes with advanced information, the latest use case in the works for GraphWear is aimed at a needle-free glucose test, expected to hit the market three to four years down the line after the necessary Food and Drug Administration clearances. |Indee Labs Secures Funding to Develop Unique Gene Therapy Manufacturing Technology in Australia|
Indee Labs will receive grant funding of nearly $1M from the Australian Government's $35 million BioMedTech Horizons program. The project will see Indee Labs make a new generation of medicine, known as gene therapy, accessible to the masses. The impact of gene therapies will be similar to that of antibiotics seen during the last century – it will offer cures for most cancer sufferers with minimal side effects. Kymriah and Yescarta were the first to be approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration last year and there are many hundreds more in development. Full Press Release

Benjamine Liu is the co-founder and CEO of Trialspark, a technology company that runs end to-end clinical trials for biopharma. Benjamine received his DPhil from Oxford, conducting his graduate work with Sir Simon Lovestone. His doctoral thesis leveraged machine-learning and 'omics' to identify diagnostic tests and therapeutic targets for Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease. During his graduate work, he was exposed to how clinical trials bottlenecked the development of new drugs, compelling him to start Trialspark.
