AbbVie and MBC BioLabs Announce Winners of Golden Ticket Competition to Support Biotech Start-ups Accelerate Early Drug Discovery
AbbVie and MBC BioLabs announced Regel Therapeutics and Weatherwax Bio as the winners of their 2021 Golden Ticket Competition. The award supports entrepreneurial scientists and emerging biotechnology start-ups to accelerate early drug discovery and innovation for the potential future benefit of patients worldwide.
Participants submitted entries across a broad range of disease areas and exciting, innovative technologies from which the winning companies were identified. Regel Therapeutics and Weatherwax Biotechnologies were chosen for the potential of their innovation to deliver therapeutic advances for unmet medical needs in the areas of neurology and oncology. The winners gain a year’s use of a lab bench and core facilities at MBC BioLabs’ San Francisco or San Carlos site, as well as opportunities to engage with AbbVie scientific and business leaders.
